By Car (Recommended) We highly recommend having a car during your stay to make the most of your Maine visit. Bangor is a small city, so traffic is minimal and parking is generally free and plentiful—including right here at the house, where you'll enjoy free private driveway parking. Major routes like I-95 and I-395 are just minutes away, making day trips to Acadia, the coast, or inland Maine quick and easy. From Bangor International Airport (BGR) The airport is only about 10 minutes away by car. Rental cars are available on-site from all major providers, and rideshare/taxi service is readily available at the terminal. Rideshare & Taxis Uber and Lyft both operate in Bangor and are reliable for trips around town, downtown nightlife, or rides to and from concerts at the Maine Savings Amphitheater. Local taxi services are also available. Public Transit The Community Connector bus system serves the Greater Bangor area with routes connecting to downtown, the Bangor Mall, the airport, and the University of Maine in Orono. A bus stop is within walking distance of the home along the Broadway route. Fares are affordable and schedules can be found on the City of Bangor website. Walking & Biking The neighborhood is quiet and walkable, and downtown Bangor is just about a mile away—an easy 20–25 minute walk on a nice day. The Bangor Waterfront and the scenic Kenduskeag Stream Trail are perfect for walking, jogging, or biking, and the Bangor City Forest offers miles of additional trails just a short drive away. Concert Nights at the Waterfront For shows at the Maine Savings Amphitheater, you have options: drive (5 minutes), grab a rideshare, or enjoy the scenic 25-minute walk down to the river.
